Madison Print & Resist is a day-long festival of zines, political print media, artisanal books, grassroots journals, and experimental publications. Partnering with the Wisconsin Book Festival and with roots in the former Madison Zinefest, Print & Resist brings together dedicated and celebrated artists, writers, and collectives. The first annual Print & Resist was held in October 2013, where participants offered table displays of their creations, collaborative projects, and community productions in the Helen C. White College Library at UW-Madison. In 2014, the event moved to a new venue: the downtown branch of the Madison Public Library, where we were inspired by even more participants, some of whom hosted informative workshops and hands-on activities.
Print & Resist is organized collectively by four Madisonians who are currently preparing for our 2015 event. We are open to new members of our team, to expand our skills, ideas, time, and energy. If you would like to join us, please send us an email describing your interests in helping organize the event and any past experience you’d like to share. We’d love to get to know you, your talents, and your passions.
We are always looking for participant-exhibitors for upcoming Print & Resist events. If you would like to be added to our email list to receive invitations and updates for future events, please email us at the address below.
